The park covers an area of 117 square kilometers with a backdrop of city skyscrapers and flying airplanes landing at Jomo Kenyatta national park, the landscape of Nairobi national park is dominated by open grasslands and acacia scrubs.
Kenya is a fairly small country in East Africa. Its capital and central transport hub are Nairobi, which is more or less in the center. Safari travelers fly into the international airport known as Jomo Kenyatta and use the domestic airport next door – called Wilson – for connecting flights to safari destinations.
When: year-round
However, it’s also worth visiting during the excellent shoulder season in November and December. Prices start dropping and you can enjoy the bush in all its lush glory as a result of the short rains in November and December. This is also the time when you can witness the huge influx of migratory birds.
Weather: Most people avoid March-May – it’s too rainy. Lodges shut down, the photography isn’t great and it can be harder to find animals since they have water everywhere and don’t need to travel to watering holes. But it’s worth looking at very early March or June when you could find good weather and shoulder season prices (of course there’s no way to predict the weather).
