SPICe Plus: All-New MCA Form for Company Registration

A SPICe form is required to be filled by the company owners to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) as an application of incorporation, detailing whether the company is a Public Limited Company, Private Limited Company, Section 8 Company, Nidhi Company, One Person Company, or Producer Company. The Modi government had started taking initiatives for the Ease of Doing Business Programme and it has not stopped since. Some days back, the MCA also announced that they will be issuing two new forms as an initiative under the Ease of Doing Business Programme. Hence, in January 2020, the ministry launched SPICe Plus that will simplify the current norms of MCA.

The new form, SPICe + or SPICe Plus, is projected to replace the older procedure of submitting and uploading the PDF document for the application of incorporation. The companies will not be required to submit the PDF and instead they will be using the new web-based SPICe + forms for applying the application of incorporation and various other services.

The newly launched SPICe + is a web-based form that will be offering various services like application for incorporation, name allotment and reservation, allotment of Director Identification Number (DIN), mandatory issue of Permanent Account Number (PAN), Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number (TAN), Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and the Opening of Bank Accounts. SPICe + can also facilitate the issue of Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN) whenever required. If the SPICe + form is filed once, only the name of the company will be allowed to change.
