Beverly Hills Eclectic Style

As I already mentioned, Dallas homes are inspired by styles and cultures from all over the world and hence why there is also an impact from other states. And as Dallas is a popular moving destination for people from Los Angeles, a lot of impacts came from there. But the impact also comes from traditional Georgian, Tudor, Spanish colonial, Jacobethan, Normandy, and Italian architecture. And these styles also impacted homes in California. It makes sense as, during the time when America was still in development, a lot of people from Europe moved here.

But the Mediterranean style of architecture was especially popular in California and it moved over to Dallas. Dallas architects took and interpreted that style, adapted it for Dallas, and made some amazing homes that look modern to this day. And the Texan Modern Style is definitely one of the most common architectural styles in Dallas. It is present throughout the whole state of Texas. David Williams is the father of this style and he has influenced plenty of architects in Texas. This is a style where the architects have kept a lot of respect for the environment and nature. This is why these homes have big yards around them and a lot of plants. Plus, they are also influenced by the rural lifestyle of Texas which was and still is present in large amounts.

Both interior and exterior surfaces are very simple as the rural lifestyle is simple. This is why architects took the durable and inexpensive standing seam metal roof and incorporated it in this style. Native limestone and unpainted brick are also very common among the Texan Modern Style homes. Country porches are an important part of these homes but they have acquired a more modern look. American Colonial Style

American Colonial Style houses are present throughout the whole country. This style became popular back in the 1800s. Until the 20th century, it was used for both residential and commercial real estate. And this is why this is one of the most common architectural styles in Dallas.

They are very easy to recognize. They have flat facades most of the time. And they are usually painted white. The central doorway is surrounded by symmetrical windows on the sides. Gabled roofs are a big indicator that the style of the house is American Colonial. They also have more than one story to them.
