The Holy Prophet delivered the sermon and said in it: Allah Almighty has made Hajj obligatory on you people. So now you have to perform Hajj. Upon hearing this, one of the companions of the Holy Prophet stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! Do you have to perform Hajj every year?

He said: If I say yes then it will be obligatory for every year and if it is obligatory for every year then you will not be able to do it. That is, you will not have enough strength to perform Hajj every year. Therefore, keep in mind that Hajj is obligatory only once, but whoever does it more than once, it is obligatory for him.
