I love comics more than hipsters like to use the hashtag no filter on their Instagram pictures. And I’m going to be counting down my top favorite heroines from the comic world. That’s right, going to be all about the Lady. So like in any countdown, I’m going to start with my number five favorite, counting all the way down to the queen bee Hero of them all. At least whom I think is the best. As there can never really be a definitive answer with these sorts of things. Now, this is something that I would say I’m a little skeptical about. Because of the Gamora Costume from the last GOTG movie, I think this is her best look yet. But that’s beside the point.

Scarlet Witch

Among the “new members” of the MCU family, Scarlet Witch was one of the most anticipated characters to be featured in the live-action movie from the franchise. Maximoff’s red cape wasn’t a part of her getups in the movie but more of a today’s style, and an amazing thing was to see the original costumes in the WandaVision series. They used it just as a funny reference, but it was nice to see the original version and what we would have if MCU had gone with the original costumes straight from the comic books. From a character that is still the newest Avenger, we have 5 costumes in total — one from the Age Of Ultron, three in the WandaVision, and one is featured in the rest of her featuring movies Civil War, End Game Infinity War. If you are going to cast some spells in the conventions, you should go through her wardrobe to select the one you like or with the Scarlet Witch Jacket.

Black Widow

Strolling in at number four is Black Widow. She recently has pretty much become a household name due to the Avengers movie this past summer, but she’s been around since the 60s 1964. To be exact, to me has always been one of the coolest girl characters out and her costumes. I mean, she’s a frickin Russian spy, so she already has that going for her because spies are just freaking awesome. No matter who you are. It’s kind of like a ninja just equals cool. Second, she’s Russian and Russian accents are always badass. I’m sure most of you remember the Russian from Armageddon. Any guesses why? Because he was Russian and awesome. Anyway, Black Widow was first introduced as the villain for Ironman in Tales of Suspense issue# 52. Then later, due to her love for Hawkeye, she overcame Russian brainwashing and joined the Avengers.

Let’s go a little piece of info if she did join the Avengers but not as a full-time member because she didn’t respect the Avenger’s oath of not killing. So then, she later joined shields to be their double agent and operative against the KGB. During a mission for shield, which is why she is both a member of shield and the Avengers in the Avengers movies. See what I did there. I just bought that full background circle. And in conclusion, Black Widow was basically a female James Bond, so where can you go wrong?

Black Canary

Number three is Black Canary. Now I’m not going to lie. A big reason why I love her character is because of betrayal in the Justice League Unlimited cartoons. Definitely weird. Either way, it’s true. Black Canary Dinah Drake first appeared in 1947 in Flash comics issue 86. She was also a member of the Justice Society of America. Which was the first-ever superhero team in comic books. She’s also the only golden age and silver age hero who used to be a member of both Justice Society of America and Justice League of America.

However, her daughter Dinah Laurel Lance later took over the Black Canary mantle. And was the modern age and my favorite Black Canary Black. Canary has an ability called the Canary Cry. She gets an ultrasonic sound from her mouth by screaming. The sound is strong enough to destroy solid objects and capitate her opponents. Meaning she would be one heck of a frontwoman for a hardcore band. She’s also a massive martial artist, especially in the form of judo. In the DC universe, she’s actually one of the seven best fighters, so pretty much what I’m saying is you do not want to piss her off.

Mutants

Number two on my list is actually a tie between Jean Grey and Rogue, both of which I’m sure most of you hear the title song from the 1992 animated series, X-men. You heard that now didn’t you, or I’m the only “nerd”? That’s probably right. Plus, the costumes of Jean from this particular movie looks stand-alone.

Anyway, I have loved both of these characters and their costumes since I was just a wee little one reading their Marvel masters volumes in Barnes and Nobles. While my parents would read in the cafe area, they just always stood out to me the way they interacted with the rest of the accident, and their powers alone were awesome. Jean Grey first appeared in 1963. And in X-Men issue one, she was known under the codename Marvel girl. Jean was also the first, initially the only female member of the x men. She began as a character whose sole power was telekinesis.

Then years later, writers decided to give her telepathy powers. Jean went through another change when she became the vessel of a cosmic, Phoenix Force. Making her arguably one of the strongest individuals in the entire Marvel Universe. Even if you haven’t read the Dark Phoenix saga, you might have watched it as a story that was adapted in the 90s X-Men cartoon series.

As for Rogue. She made her first appearance in Avengers annual issue# 10 in 1981. She probably has one of the coolest powers. Comics row possesses the mute inability to absorb the psyche and abilities of other people. With physical contact, Rogue can absorb memories, knowledge, talents, personality, and physical abilities through the skin. Whether superhuman or not, she can take anyone’s powers. Hence, like I said, pretty much one of the coolest powers any hero has, so yes, Jean Grey Rogue to those badass leads of comic books.

Wonder Woman

Sitting pretty at number one on my list of female loveliness is Wonder Woman. Now you’re probably like Wonder Woman, she’s the obvious choice, and you wouldn’t be completely wrong. But there is a very good reason why she’s number one on my list, which are as follows. She’s pretty much the female equivalent of Superman. Also, she is the Trinity Queen of the DC universe and of the Justice League. The Trinity comprises Batman, Superman, and herself. Making her one of the top dogs in the DC Universe. Wonder Woman is also an Amazon princess from Paradise Island. And her daddy is Zeus, meaning she’s probably related to Kevin Sorbo. Wonder Woman’s history changed. Somewhat over the course of time. She is one of the longest continuously published comic book characters.

After the 2011 new 52 relaunches. Zeus is now her biological father through Hippolyta. Zeus and Hippolyta engaged in combat, and they ended up making love. Thus Diana was conceived, and this encounter was hidden from Diana, who was raised to believe that she was born out of clay in order to protect Diana from Hera, Zeus’s wife. For those of you who’ve seen the 90s Hercules TV show, you know she can be a really bad person.

Currently, Wonder Woman and Superman have a thing for each other in the comic books. And also one last thing I really like is her costumes, that is just amazing. I thank god that it exists. And yes, those are just some of the many reasons why Wonder Woman is my favorite Lady of the comic book world.
